Somebody explain this to me...PLEASE
In the office, one of the girls just told a story of how she started to tell her youngest daughter a nursery rhyme. It was Baa Baa Black Sheep.
Her eight year old son said " your not allowed to sing that Mummy "
"Why" said Mum
" because the teacher said it was Racist " He said "We now sing ( Wait for it )
Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep "
Is there anyone out there can explain the justification of this. I have a feeling most of you will be as outraged as me as to the absurdity of this, but surely some one can say why just why ? Any teachers out there ?

Because your'e signing about a black sheep in particular - the rainbow sheep incoroporates all the colours in it.
Stupid, policitical correct clap-trap if you ask me!!
How can "Baa Baa black sheep" be racist? A come on to a Welsh man maybe!
Ooops - sorry, that racist too, but I'm Welsh and I don't care!
Matt

Hahaha, sounds like The Netherlands, where products get a different name, because they suddenly became racist. Good to see we are not the only place where the government doesnt know what to do anymore.

There are places to draw the line and there are lines drawn in wrong places.
When travelling in Hong Kong years ago I found "Darkie" toothpaste which depicted a cartoon image of a very black face with very white teeth. Ok, that is on the wrong side of the line. It's now called "Darlie" toothpaste and has no black-face cartoon character.
But to make some poor farmer go and bleach all of his sheep and then paint them psychadelic colours is just plain silly. Are kids suppose to ignore the fact that not everything is the same shade of grey?

This rainbow sheep is just the latest in a long line of examples of how the world is becoming totally barmy and slipping away from decent good old fashioned values.
Politocal correctness seeks to inhibit personal freedom of speech and action. Political correctness has done untold damage to society by giving supposedly 'repressed' groups freedoms without any sort of balancing responsibility. Worst of all though, political correctness has slipped in "under the radar" unchecked because most people just think of it as a joke.
It's made common sense a thing of the past. If you catch a burglar in your house then it's best to help the poor soul by carrying your possessions to the front door lest he should trip up and hurt himself and it's you that end up in court!
If the cops do actually succeed in getting a villain into court then the Magistrates hand out such lenient sentences that there is no deterrent. If you do end up in prison, the prison officers are told to call you by your first name and not say anything that may upset you! Just in case you get bored, you can keep yourself amused by repeatedly taking the prison governor to court over trivial matters that you think violate your human rights - all paid for by legal aid!
Illegal immigrants (if caught) such as afghan hijackers are rarely deported. Have you got a long way to come to get here? Why not hijack an airliner for the trip? Don't worry, we will still let you stay! Would you like a black coffee? (I meant rainbow coffee!! really) NO! You can't say that! It's coffee without milk!!
Also take Abu Qatada, a Muslim cleric with suspected links to al-Qa'eda. His deportation to Jordan, where he has been convicted of terrorism offences, is being opposed by lawyers on the grounds that they might be a bit rough with him over there.
Our British humour has suffered badly. We can't tell jokes anymore in case it's considered racist or it upsets anyone. Don't these Politically Correct people realise that these are just jokes, said for fun and not real abuse? God bless Benny Hill and Bernard Manning, or can I say God bless for fear I might offend some non christian religion!!
And what about the PC alternatives used to avoid upset.
- Body Odour: Non discretionary fragrance.
- Foreign Food: Ethnic cuisine.
- Criminal: Behaviourally challenged.
- Dishonest: Ethically disoriented.
- Housewife: Domestic Engineer.
- Ugly: Cosmetically different.
- Unemployed: Involuntarily leisured.
Isn't it time that society wised up and started usinga bit of common sense

Ah, well thats not exactly the same Andy, that emblem on the jam jar was withdrawn by request from the Passport Office as they were being used as children's passport pictures.

I'm reporting Mr. SadlyBrokeBoy to the Race Relations Board for his Welsh sheep comment. Anyone who calls me Taff or Taffy will also be reported, as will any remarks about wellies. If I hear the word White a telephone call will be made to the appropriate department. I'm not white, I'm a delicate shade of pink. I also understand the blackboard has now been called a whiteboard and this will be another complaint to be made. I also object to foreigners calling me a Brit when I go abroad. Any references to Swansea Jack will be severely frowned upon. The Union Jack is just such a reference and will be further reported. Hamericans call me Hinglish and Hawstrallians call me a Whinging Pommie. More complaints and grimaces. The beauracrats will love me once I get going. Are we allowed to call them that?

Nearly every field near me, which has sheep in it, has at least one Black sheep, it is black, it is not rainbow coloured and just now anda gain, there is a Brown sheep. It is not rainbow coloured either. I am sure that it would not complain at being called black, after all black is not really a colour, it is just black!!! And no I am not being even the slightest bit racist.

Personally I think it's all gone too far. It's got to a point now when people say particular words that are references to colour (was that vague enough) that everyone else looks round embarrased to see who is within earshot.
Most of the time it's all innocent.
And what also gets me is people like rap stars. The stuff they put in their records doesn't exactly help themselves, when they rap they often use what would be a derogatory term if used by a white person, but it's alright for them to use it? What's the difference who uses the term, it's either insulting or it's not. Doesn't matter who it cam from surely??

So the "Pale girl and the vertical challenged people" okay, so far, i got it, but i got a complain from the fruit commission, and they say i can not use an Apple anymore, because it got a negative image to much already, besides we have to watch out for lawsuits from a boy band :P and computer manufacturer which might bring us to court, which fruit should i use now ?
Yes this is the world we live in nowerdays... and i ain't happy about it.. but.. what to do ?

"And behold a rider on a Pale Horse and his name was Death."
Should I make a complaint and have it changed to "a lighter shade of grey"?
