Junior member - new here

Hello,

My name is Reuben and I am 8 years old.

My mummy is Dawn (crystal_singer) who is also a member here on DD.

Rebel has been kind enough to allow me to have my own account. My mum had posted some of my photos for me, but I would really like to learn how to upload my own photos to share with you all.

Thank you for all the very nice comments left about my wrestling photos.

I hope to learn more about photography and will post more photos as I take them. My mum has agreed to help me with this task for now until I am better at using the computer. She said she will also teach me about photography, although I could probably teach her a trick or two already

I have my own camera which my mum bought for me a year ago (although she tends to use it quite a bit and I think she prefers it to her own cameras). I would like to get a bigger lens so I can take photos from a distance and also a fancy flash so I can learn more about lighting (but my mum said we will have to share camera equipment for now).

As I am still learning to read and use a computer, please could you use simple words that I will understand when leaving feedback (although my mum has said she will help me here too).

I am sure I will have fun here on DD and learn loads.

Reuben
(but I don't mind if you call me Roo ... that is what my family & friends sometimes call me)

Firstly Roo a great big warm welcome to this website. Your Mum will tell you that we know each other. She's a wonderful photographer and will make a great teacher.

It's a hobby like many here that I've been involved in since before your age when my Dad taught me to take good pictures.

If you don't ask you never learn o don't be afraid to ask questions. We will always try and give simple answers and not try and not get too complicated.

Good lad for joining up, it would be great to see more of our young photographers get involved.

my child to DD. The people here on this forum are such nice people as you already know from the lovely comments they have left for you about your wrestling photos.

I am sure you will learn a lot from this site and together we will practice photography and learn how to use the computer.

Have fun my son and remember I am here to help you and guide you on your journey to learning about photography and internet etiquette.

All my love

Mum xxxx

Hi Roo and welcome to DD.

Firstly it's great that you have decided to choose photography as your hobby and secondly it's even better that you have chosen DD to show us all how good you are already.

I just know you are going to be a very busy member of the forum and are going to try and fill all the forums memory with your photographs.......the wrestling shots prove you already know what you are doing and you'll soon be inspiring us all with your exciting approach.

Your mum is a fantastic example and you will learn a lot from her.

Enjoy your photography

Hi Roo and welcome to DD.

My only advice is if someone answers a question or reply's to a post and you don't understand what is being said please ask for it to be explained.
Do not be shy if you don't ask we will think you that you understand.
Just look at my siggy below in red its been there for years.

Have a great time and again welcome.

Regards Ian

Hi Roo and a great big to DD. I'm sure your mom will give you all the guidance you need to get to grips with all aspects of the forums (I'm still learning!) so you can be confident enough to use them properly, as Ian(superbrad) says "if in doubt, ASK", all the best and happy togging.

Thank you

Hello everyone

Thank you for all the nice welcome messages, my mum has helped me to read all the lovely letters. I like all the little faces, mum tells me they are called emoticons, they are so cool and funny .... these two are my favourite and I like this one too because I can see this is what my mum is going to be doing since she signed me up to DD and agreed to teach me photography

I will be taking some more photos soon and send them to you to look at.

Mum and I have spent some time looking through your photos tonight, and they are very good.

I know I will learn a lot from DD and if I don't understand something I will ask.

Roo

Hiya everyone,

Roo has asked me to pop past on his behalf to say thank you for the lovely messages and he will be back online on Sunday to upload some photos and leave his own message.

He is away this weekend, visiting his dad tonight and then at his grandma's tomorrow night (busy social weekend lol). But he is well and looking forward to coming home and catching up with you all.

He says he is going to miss his photography this weekend, but we will be able to catch up with some togging on Sunday.

Have a fun weekend everyone.

Cheers

Dawn (a.k.a. Mum and PA to Roo )

Better late then never. Been away since before Xmas and have missed all the fun, not to mention missing out on your debut. Still have to find all those wrestling piccies.

So, Roo to this forum and may you have fun, fun, fun whilst you learn the tricks of the trade. Hope to see more of your efforts in the future.
