Exclamation Oracle releases Java SE 7 Update 15, and Java 6 Update 41 to combat vulnerabilities

Adobe has released its promised emergency updates for Reader and Acrobat; a newly-reported vulnerability was actively being exploited on Windows and Mac computers. The fixes are available for all affected platforms - Windows, Mac and Linux users should all upgrade.
Adobe rates these updates at a priority of 1 on the Windows and Macintosh platforms, for all supported product versions (9, 10, 11). That's because the vulnerability was not just known, but actively being exploited. On Linux, the rating is 2, which means that vulnerabilities exist in the product, but no exploits are known.

The versions affected are Adobe Reader and Acrobat XI (11.0.01 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh, X (10.1.5 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh, 9.5.3 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows and Macintosh, and Adobe Reader 9.5.3 and earlier 9.x versions for Linux.

If you use either product, you can launch it now and choose [Help] [Check for Updates].

Again, many thanks for your efforts and the info provided. Was quite surprised to see WCG getting a mention in dispatches.

In general, DC - Distributed Computing is a very worthwhile activity - been involved since my fair lady passed away just over 5 years ago - which uses spare capacity in the background and goes virtually un-noticed by the user.

If anyone reading this is interested - Google BOINC - there are research programs from Astronomy to infinity and beyond.

In a nut-shell - Use the idle time on your computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) to cure diseases, study global warming, discover pulsars, and do many other types of scientific research. It's safe, secure, and easy.
