Tamron 28-300 XR Di VC 300mm and Macro Test Shots

For those of you who don't know I recently bought a Tamron 28-300 XR Di VC lens for my Canon 20D.

As I do NOT normally post pics I thought I would post a few TEST SHOTS to share, just too show how the VC (Vibration Control) works on the Tamron.

I think the results speak for themselves, don't you?.

Not sure if this is still the right choice of lens to make and as its time for the big guy in the red coat to make his way then this does seem like an opportune moment to take another look at what seems like a great all round lens.
My question, is it still good value compared to what else may be out there?
