Suggestions
Hello all, not been around for a while. How you all doin'?
Just pulled the trigger on this:

A Canonet 28. Should have it in a few days.
Anyone recommend a good midrange general purpose 35mm film?
Cheers!

Very nice!
Assuming you want to start with colour print film then pretty much most from this list would do well. If pushed I would recommend Ektar, Portra or one of the Fuji Pro films.

I'd look at any of the fuji range, in particular fuji velvia.
If they still stock it www.7dayshop.com were always a good source of film at a competitive price.

Must get a lens on my 1000fn, It's got a roll of Fuji Ultima in it.
There seems to be a resurgence of film users at the moment, I don't know if it's nostalgia or maybe digital has something missing.

Thanks for the replies!
@ Chris: I'm on a retro trip at the mo'. Missed out on film cameras. Like the idea of rangefinders (which I think is what digital is missing (at least in form factor. i.e. FF sensor in rangefinder body. Yep Leica M9 does it but costs £££££££!)), so thought I'd try it "old-skool"
Next question:
Slide vs. Print Film
Discuss.

Print and scan.
I believe that slide film will not be processed after the end of this year.
Kodachrome 64 is now about £16 a roll and is mostly short dated or already out of date.
Stick to Fuji film and get a cheapy film scanner.

I process all my positives and negatives at Peak Imaging. Then scan via an Epson V500.
Exposure control is more critical with positives relative to negatives, but can be far more satisfying. Especially Velvia due to the highly saturated colours.

Peak were always good for my slides, but must admit havent shot film in years, and to be honest have no intention of going back - digital has made me lazy i guess.....

Sorry Chris, I meant that Peak do the processing and then I use my V500 to scan.
Peak do scan (and do a good job) but I don't know what they use (presumably an automated process of some kind).

Got to say processing your own colour negative film is so easy I'm surprised you dont do it yourselves.
